LATES A BIG CONCERN AT HENDERSON
We are averaging 40 lates a day! Our school day begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. The first school entry bell is at 8:55 a.m. to give students time to hang up outdoor clothing, change into indoor shoes and have all necessary material needed to have a productive day. Learning begins at 9:00 a.m.
In order to provide the best possible program for your child, it is necessary for the student to attend school regularly and arrive on time. The Education Act states, a pupil shall attend punctually and regularly (Regulation 262, Section 23). Research indicates that attendance patterns and attitudes are developed at an early age and the older an individual gets, the more likely it is that these patterns will persist.
Students arriving late not only impact their own learning but also interrupt the learning of the other students when teaching/learning is in progress.
We kindly ask for your cooperation to have your child(ren) at school for 8:55 at the latest. All entry doors are open at this time. Students should only enter through the front door when they are late.

Book Fair a Great Success
Thank you to all of our students, staff and parents who came out to support our Scholastic Book Fair! It would not have been such a success without YOU. Thanks to you, we sold $3,400.00 worth of books and assorted items. A large portion of these sales will be returned to the school in the form of library books and resources to support our students. We would like to send a GIANT THANK YOU to Gary Hess for set up and take down of the fair and managing it daily!!
